Barbera D'Asti, Sacco, 2018
The colour is intense ruby red; the bouquet is fragrant and vineous. The taste is full and persistent on the palate with good weight, marked acidity and delicate tannins.
Pairs well with starters, salami, tasty pasta, meat and medium seasoned cheese.

Piemonte
The Piedmont (or Piemonte) wine region is Italy’s largest – the thick fogs of the region known as nebbia, giving rise to Piedmont’s signature grape variety, Nebbiolo. Found in the famous Barolo and Barbaresco wines, the difficult grape produces some truly spectacular wines when handled correctly. Piedmont is more than a one trick pony though, and other red grapes fare particularly well in the region, notably Barbera and Dolcetto. Cortese is the main white grape of the region and goes into the wonderfully floral and finessed Gavi wines.
