Pineau des Charentes
Pineau des Charentes
Pineau des Charentes is a traditional fortified apéritif from western France, produced mainly in the Charente and Charente-Maritime regions. It is made by blending fresh grape juice with Cognac, creating a smooth, sweet wine with rich fruit flavours and a gentle warming character.
Available in white, rosé and red styles, Pineau des Charentes is aged before release, allowing its flavours to develop depth and complexity. It is best served well chilled as an apéritif, but also pairs wonderfully with cheese, foie gras, fruit desserts and chocolate. A true regional speciality, it has been enjoyed in France for centuries and is celebrated for its balance of freshness and richness.
